ConsenSys, a top blockchain technology firm, has unveiled its latest project, MetaMask Learn. MetaMask Learn is a freely accessible resource, available in 10 languages, for anyone seeking to learn about Web3.

According to the company, MetaMask Learn offers an interactive user interface that eases the process of onboarding individuals new to self-custody. Also, it provides step-by-step guidance through the essential concepts needed to get started.

MetaMask Learn To Make Web3 Education Easier

Disruptions in the cryptocurrency sector have diminished confidence among investors in custodial platforms. However, there remains a limited understanding of the alternatives to custodial solutions.

Hence, several Web3 leaders believe that delivering essential educational resources for the uptake of Web3 is critical. This is because many crypto users have little or no knowledge about self-custody.

In 2022, ConsenSys commissioned Morning Consult to research crypto holders. The survey revealed that three-quarters of the 1,505 respondents in the US knew nothing about self-custody.

Given the November FTX crisis, which affected several crypto investors, hardware wallet producers such as Ledger recorded immense patronage. The CEO of Binance even advised investors to ditch centralized exchanges and embrace self-custodial crypto wallets.

According to MetaMask, teaching users about self-custody will help increase trust in the Web3 sector. Therefore, MetaMask Learn is a helpful tool enabling the company to assume a prominent role in educating new persons about Web3.

It will equip the participants with the necessary information and skills to confidently navigate the ecosystem.

MetaMask Targets The Unbanked Population

Dan Finlay, the MetaMask co-founder, stated, “2022 events eroded trust in custodial financial systems, leading an increasing number of cryptocurrency investors to seek self-custodial solutions.”

In addition, the co-founder argued that users are finding it difficult to learn about Web3. Hence, he believed the MetaMask Learn would help to bridge the gap.

“MetaMask Learn provides users with an attractive and information-rich starting point for exploring the Web3 ecosystem, combining visually-engaging learning experiences with practical, hands-on testing,” he added.

Meanwhile, MetaMask argued that the accessibility to knowledge regarding Web3 should be highly comprehensive. At its inception, the platform will offer support for ten languages. The ten languages include Chinese, Portuguese, Tagalog (the Philippines), Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Turkish, English, Bahasa, and Vietnamese.

This move will allow MetaMask to educate users globally, including regions with high inflation rates or a substantial proportion of individuals without access to traditional banking services.

Furthermore, MetaMask Learn has a syllabus that will teach users about Web3, self-custody wallet, NFTs and creators, crypto wallet, Decentralized Finance, and digital identity.
